Twelve members of the Laboratory of Electrochemical Engineering of the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of the Philippines – Diliman have graduated last June 26, 2016 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
These 12 members are from 4 different research topics of the laboratory with 3 members each. The first group members are Reynaldo Geronia II, Marc Francis Labata, and Kirby Lanz Rosales whose research topic was entitled CO 2 Electrocatalytic Conversion on Electrodeposited Cu-based Surfaces. The next group consists of Kristine Del Rosario, Ian Paolo Pe Benito, and Tyrone Stacy Syling whose topic was Design, Prototype Development, and Deployment of a Portable Metal-Air Battery System for Emergency Applications. These first 2 groups of students are advisees of the laboratory head Prof. Joey Ocon.
Tin/Tin oxide catalysts for electroreduction of carbon dioxide to formate was the research topic of the group of Christian Conopio, Marwin Crispino, and Jastin Mae Villanueva. The topic Fabrication of a Membraneless Alkaline Fuel Cell Prototype for Ethanol Sensing was the research topic by the group of Patrick Ryan Cruz, Alden Jon Espineli, and Ron Andrei Soriano. The remaining 2 groups are advisees of the laboratory manager Asst. Prof. Julie Anne del Rosario.
Among these students, four of them have graduated with latin honors. These are Reynaldo Geronia II, Marc Francis Labata, Kristine Del Rosario, and Jastin Mae Villanueva, all of them graduated Cum Laude.
