Hosted by GMA Synergy sportscaster Martin Javier, the segment focuses on highlighting groundbreaking trends, discoveries, and innovations impacting various aspects of daily life, from fitness to technology.

The segment showcased the innovative work of Project NextGen, led by Prof. Joey D. Ocon, in developing Advanced Cathode Materials for Next Generation Batteries. Amidst the rising demand for lithium sources worldwide, Project NextGen is exploring sodium ion batteries as a promising alternative. Sodium, being more abundantly available at a low cost compared to lithium, presents a viable solution in the quest for sustainable energy storage solutions.

During the feature, Martin Javier had the opportunity to witness firsthand the assembly process of a sodium ion battery coin cell inside a glovebox. The assembled coin cell successfully powered a light-emitting diode (LED), demonstrating the potential of sodium-ion batteries in practical applications.
